A diesel filter water sensor (or Water-in-Fuel/WIF sensor) is an electronic component installed at the bottom of a diesel fuel filter/separator that detects accumulated water. It alerts the driver via a dashboard light when water levels are high, protecting the engine's sensitive, high-pressure fuel injection system from damage and corrosion.
